Transparopticon

Today I finished scene 6 of the Bertoline “Holy Grail” Lecture Series.  Each scene is taking about 8-10 each because I am new to many of the tools in this pipeline.  Tools include: Sony Vegas, videolan (VLC), Google Earth Pro, SketchUp 6 pro, YouTube. The pipeline is pretty hairy and the digital space needed to do this (and keep the video quality high) has been enormous. I may be approaching a terabyte of disc space so far and I am only about half done with the series. The goal is to have each scene take place at a different location on campus using the google earth 3D campus models and custom models that I import into google earth for display purposes. I have about 5 more locations rendered out and they worked out pretty well, so the next series of videos might take much less time to create per video.

Scene 6 takes place on the future site of the Discovery Learning Center. I tried a few different techniques with the slides.
